South Carolina, Here I Come!

I have lived in northeast Ohio all of my life. Every winter I endure snow up to knees, temperatures that I don't even want to remember and roads that are often slick and ice covered. Recently, I accepted an offer from my previous employer and decided to move to another part of the country that doesn't get snow. I considered many locations including Tampa, Atlanta, Charlotte, Knoxville, Orlando and Ashville. The location I chose was Charleston, South Carolina.

Leaving Cleveland is not a difficult decision. The economy in Cleveland is bad, the job market is poor and the city in general tries very hard to stay alive, but it's just not happening. Cleveland is for fourth poorest city in the United States, has high crime rates and the foreclosure capital of the world. Some say Cleveland is going to through a renaissance. I say Cleveland is dead. It's time for me to look somewhere else. Staying in Cleveland for me really isn't an option.

It is with great anticipation that I move to Charleston. I can't wait to live near the ocean, make new friends, meet new clients and enjoy life in the south. I can't wait to photograph this beautiful city. I can't wait to start shooting weddings in this picturesque coastal town. Sadly, though, I am leaving my family, friends and good clients. But, I am ready to start a new life and build my photography business in a new location.

In northeast Ohio I shoot about 25 weddings per year. That means that I am shooting a wedding just about every Saturday from April through September. This made for a very busy summer with a wedding just about every weekend. For me, that's great! I love what I do. I love shooting weddings and it's not really work to me. I get to meet very nice people doing what I love to do and it shows in my photos.

Weddings are a large part of my business. But, I also shoot for The Plain Dealer, Ohio's largest newspaper and The Sun News, northeast Ohio's community newspaper with 22 editions. Hundreds of my photos have appeared in these newspapers. My goal is to build my photography business in South Carolina like I did in Ohio.
